About WakeMed Health & Hospitals

WakeMed Health & Hospitals is a private, not-for-profit, 919-bed, three hospital system in Wake County. Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of our community with outstanding and compassionate care to all. We specialize in heart and vascular care, women’s care, children’s, rehabilitation, neurosciences, orthopedics, surgical services, and more. We have seven full-time emergency departments, including the county’s only Level I Trauma Center. WakeMed Raleigh Campus and WakeMed Cary Hospital are both nationally accredited chest pain and stroke centers. We won numerous accolades and awards, including ANCC Magnet designation. Our retention rate for clinical nurse residents one year after hire is an impressive 90%.

The schools will assist students with annual credentialling requirements.
