Navigating Health Care Careers Conference
Save the Date: April 16, 2027, WakeMed Andrews Conference Center
This event is for high school students who are interested in the health care field and want to explore the many options available. Registration will open in early 2027.
WakeMed hosted a Mini Med School in collaboration with our Simulation Center. High school students took part in breakout sessions including a Stop the Bleed course, a Code Blue simulation, and an opportunity to practice using ultrasound equipment. In this video, students worked with a WakeMed Education Specialist to practice scanning and moving the instrument on a simulation patient's abdomen. This is just one of our Workforce Development efforts to expose students to the world of health care and all the possibilities that exist working in a hospital.
