Welcome to our New Senior Vice President

Dr. Nat’e Guyton, DM, MSN, RN, NE-BC, CPHIMS

WakeMed is excited to welcome Dr. Nat’e Guyton, DM, MSN, RN, NE-BC, CPHIMS, as the new senior vice president and administrator of WakeMed Cary Hospital, starting on June 22. Dr. Guyton comes to us from her role as president of Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho, part of the Trinity Health System, which serves various regions across Idaho, eastern Oregon, and northern Nevada.

In her new position, Dr. Guyton will collaborate closely with Dr. Doug Trocinski, the chief medical officer, and Sabrina Tyndall, the executive nursing director. She will also oversee key departments such as Respiratory Care, Imaging Services, and Environmental Services. Donald Gintzig, president and CEO, expressed enthusiasm about Dr. Guyton's proven leadership and commitment to compassionate patient care, noting that her values align perfectly with WakeMed's culture. With 25 years of diverse healthcare experience, Dr. Guyton is set to bring a wealth of knowledge and skills to the Cary Hospital team.

Renovations Coming to Cary Hospital

Cary Hospital Women's Pavillion

As we continually grow, our goal is to maintain state-of-the-art facilities and services for our patients and visitors. In light of this commitment, our patient registration area and our main entrance are under renovation as we prepare for the expansion of our neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). This will create a more accessible and visually appealing experience for all who entrust us with their care.

Wound Care

Patient being prepped by provider to go into hyperbaric chamber

Our comprehensive Wound Healing Center at Medical Park of Cary offers an outpatient continuum of care. We’re dedicated to healing wounds, preventing lower limb loss and optimizing outcomes for our patients. If you or a loved one has a wound that is of concern or is not healing properly, we encourage you to visit the wound center for an evaluation.

Meanwhile, take a look at our wound care virtual tour to learn more about our comprehensive care unit, which includes the hyperbaric chamber, where patients breathe 100 percent oxygen in an enclosed pressurized system for sessions of 90-120 minutes depending upon the condition being treated. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy helps to increase the oxygen levels in the blood stream, allowing damaged tissues to regenerate and heal faster. During therapy the patient has a clear view of their surroundings, is in constant communication with the hyperbaric specialist and can nap or watch television.

Parking at Cary Hospital

As we continue expansion and growth in Cary, we understand that parking is paramount to access those services. We feature a variety of parking options to assist our patients and visitors. If the patient and visitor parking lot is full, we encourage you to park in the visitor/staff parking deck or the parking lot adjacent to it.

Mothers' Milk Bank

mom and baby

Our Milk Bank headquartered at Cary Hospital exists to serve fragile babies, Each year, more than 10,000 babies are born prematurely in North Carolina. These fragile newborns need the best possible nutrition to grow and develop into healthy infants. Breast milk has life-saving antibodies that protect preemies, as well as full-term infants, against disease, illness and intestinal infections. However, ill, premature babies sometimes cannot breastfeed, and frequently their mothers are unable to pump enough milk for them. For a baby in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), milk donations can be essential to life.

We have many stories of those who persevered with a baby in the NICU and then chose to give back through milk donation.
