Meet Our Team

Linda Barrett, MHA
Director, Corporate and Community Health

Linda Barrett serves as the director of Corporate & Community Health and also oversees our Physician Relations & Business Development teams. Her role includes oversight for WakeMed’s corporate wellness services for business and industry – as well as community health programs offered by WakeMed. She is passionate about helping people take control of their health and lives, as well as promoting the services WakeMed can offer to local businesses and our community.

Linda has been working in the field of health education and worksite wellness for the past 30 years. She earned her bachelor of science degree in School and Community Health Education from East Carolina University and a master’s degree in Health Administration from Pfeiffer University. Linda has provided wellness screenings and education to thousands of individuals in North Carolina and consulted with numerous businesses across the state to implement employee wellness programs. She serves on numerous committees and board throughout WakeMed and the region, including the state-wide Eat Smart Move More Leadership Team and various community initiatives to promote health and wellness in our community. Linda lives in Apex with her husband, Drexel, and has a daughter attending NC State and a son who lives in Charlotte.

William Avery

Will is an exercise specialist who grew up playing sports and is passionate about working with people interested in becoming more active and improving their health. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology, which is the study of physical activity and body movement. He has been with WakeMed since he graduated and worked at WakeMed’s fitness center before joining the Corporate & Community Health team.


Kelli Bullock

Kelli is an exercise specialist who graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelor of science degree in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise. Throughout her career, she has served in a variety of roles; from health testing and coaching a wide range of topics (nutrition, fitness, tobacco cessation, stress, sleep), to coordinating the flu shot program, to creating and teaching health education and group exercise classes, and more. She is currently an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer and is also working toward obtaining the National Tobacco Treatment Provider certification. She is truly passionate and enthusiastic about health and helping people set and reach realistic health and wellness goals. In her free time, Kelli enjoys trying new foods, watching Netflix, and spending time outside with her dog.


Susie Davis, BS, CWWS, CES

Susie is an exercise specialist who has worked at WakeMed for over 15 years serving in various health and wellness leadership roles. She earned her bachelor of science degree in Health & Exercise Science from Meredith College and holds certifications as a Certified Worksite Wellness Specialist through the National Wellness Institute and Certified Exercise Specialist through ACSM. She participated in the WakeMed Leadership Academy in 2010 and earned the highest honor as a Circle of Excellence Award winner at WakeMed in 2014. Susie’s passion in helping others achieve optimal health in a positive way is demonstrated by her commitment and service to the department for the past 12 years combined with her expertise in teaching group fitness to cardiac rehab patients on a weekly basis. In her “spare time” she enjoys teaching water aerobics, swimming, traveling to the beach, and most importantly being a mother to two precious children, Spencer & Paige.


Meredith Ebersohl, MS, MPH, RD, LDN

Meredith is a registered dietitian who graduated from NC State University with a master’s degree in 2007. She worked in the field of plant biotechnology until 2012, when she returned to graduate school to pursue a master’s degree in Public Health and to become a registered dietitian. She is passionate about helping clients improve their health and has received a Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management. During her time with Corporate & Community Health, she has enjoyed teaching Lunch & Learns, coaching clients on their screening results, and conducting individual nutrition counseling visits. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking with her husband, son, and two dogs, watching her toddler learn new things, and taking group fitness classes.

Mandy Holliday, MPH, RD, LDN

Mandy Holliday graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry in 2002. She went on to earn her Master of Public Health degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2006. Mandy has worked both in the hospital and wellness settings where she has counseled individuals with a variety of health conditions and eating behaviors. What excites her the most is helping people establish a healthy relationship with food and live happier, healthier lives. She has been with Corporate Community Health at WakeMed since July 2019. During this time she has helped individuals meet their personal health goals through one-on-one counseling and provided evidence-based nutrition information through fun, interactive nutrition classes. Outside of work, Mandy enjoys spending time outdoors, eating delicious food, and beating her husband and son at board games.

Mandy Holiday

Kayla Jones, RN

Kayla graduated from East Carolina University with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing in May, 2011. She started off at Vidant Medical Center on a bariatric general surgery unit, and then moved to Raleigh to get married and started at Rex Hospital on the Neuro floor. She joined WakeMed Health & Hospitals in 2013. She started off in WakeMed Cary Hospital in the Chest Pain Center/observation units. She transferred to WakeMed Raleigh Campus to pursue ICU experience and was on the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. Now, she is working as the Corporate and Community Health Nurse doing biometric screenings, health coaching, nursing care out of the mobile truck, among other duties. She holds national nursing certifications in both cardiac-vascular nursing as well as critical care nursing. Kayla is very passionate about holistic and preventative health in order to improve patient outcomes and reduce hospital admissions with proper health education. She lives in Raleigh with her husband, daughter, and stepson. She has a pet snake (ball python) and 3 special needs dogs (her puppy kids). Kayla currently also does acting, modeling, and singing on the side. When she’s not working, you can usually find her spending time with family and/or friends, enjoying a movie in the theater, travelling, hiking, camping, or cooking. / p>

Monika Kraus, MS, RD, LD

Monika is a registered dietitian who is passionate about helping people to stay well and meet their health goals. She graduated from New York University with a master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition. She has worked in hospital and wellness settings and has a strong interest in health promotion and disease prevention. Since joining WakeMed in 2016, Monika has enjoyed providing one-on-one nutrition counseling, leading interactive nutrition classes and participating in health screenings. Outside of work, she enjoys being active, traveling, and spending time with her husband and two daughters.


Emily Medlin, BS, BCHC

Emily is a certified health coach with more than 16 years of experience in health education, fitness, nutrition, and wellness coaching for corporate and individual patients. She enjoys working with all populations – especially those at high risk for developing chronic diseases. Emily graduated from Meredith College with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and earned her board certification as a health coach through the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2017. She is also a Certified Medical Assistant, and a Certified Stability Ball Trainer. Emily has an integrative approach to health that focuses on nutrition, exercise/movement, emotional wellbeing, and stress reduction. Her goal is to educate, support, guide, and empower her patients. Emily lives in Cary with her son, two labrador retrievers, and french bulldog. She can usually be found curled up with a good book, hiking around Bond Lake, or enjoying live music.


Michelle Naehring

Michelle is an education specialist who received her Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics from the University of Cincinnati. She has over 20 years experience in in the health and wellness industry and is passionate about helping others experience the power of optimal health through lifestyle change. She is currently working towards a national board certification as a functional medicine health coach. In her free time you will probably find Michelle in the kitchen creating healthy recipes or outside exercising. She loves exploring new trails in the area while mentoring runners with a local running group and volunteers as a nutrition educator for the Inter-Faith food shuttle. Michelle lives in Cary, NC with her husband and two children.


Lauren Naugle, MBA

Lauren supports the Corporate & Community Health service lines by helping to develop, plan, and strategize on projects, policies, services and technology. She graduated from William Peace University with a bachelor of science degree in Biology in 2014. She worked as a certified nursing assistant at WakeMed for two years before going back to school to earn a master’s degree in Business Administration specializing in health care. While in school, she transitioned out of direct patient care and entered the business environment of healthcare by joining WakeMed’s Corporate & Community Health team.


Jennifer Neighbors

Jennifer is a community health specialist with more than 20 years of experience in community health and wellness. She graduated from East Carolina University in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in Public Health with a concentration in Community Health. Since then, she has worked for the Durham County Health Department coordinating their school health program and as a program consultant for the state within the Tobacco Prevention and Control Branch. She has been employed with WakeMed for just over ten years as a community health specialist. When she’s not working, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family to include her husband, son and daughter.


Kelly Pfaulm, FNP-C

Kelly, is a Family Nurse Practitioner with 7 years of experience practicing in the local area. She graduated from North Carolina State University with degrees in: Zoology, Chemistry, and Psychology and then went on to pursue her nursing education from East Carolina University. Her passion is focusing on health prevention and promotion and working with patients to help empower them to live their best lives. She is a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine which focuses on using evidence based interventions to help reverse, treat and prevent chronic disease. Kelly is also passionate about the positive impact that can be provided by implementing workplace wellness programs and is excited to be a member of the Community and Corporate Health Team. When not working, Kelly loves to spend time with her family and friends, enjoys group fitness classes, being outdoors and time at the beach. Kelly lives in Raleigh with her husband and two daughters.

Karen Robins, MS
Manager, Corporate Wellness

Karen Robins is the Manager of Corporate Wellness and has worked at WakeMed since 2014. In her role, Karen oversees all wellness services provided at the worksite for businesses throughout the Triangle. Karen collaborates with brokers and human resources executives to design, implement and evaluate customized, effective wellness programs that identify chronic disease, educate employees about their health, promote positive behavior change, and reduce healthcare costs for the company. Karen enjoys returning to the same companies year after year and seeing the healthy changes that result from wellness interventions. Karen earned her bachelor of science in Health & Exercise Science from Wake Forest University and her master of science in Exercise Physiology from Florida State University. When she is not working, Karen enjoys country music, ACC basketball (especially Wake Forest) and travelling with her family. She lives in Holly Springs with her husband, Eric, and her three children.
