Junior Volunteering
High School Students (Ages 16+ through the summer after graduation)
WakeMed Volunteer Services offers an opportunity for high school students 16 to 18 to apply when openings become available. Applications for each campus will open only when there are open positions. Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance. All applications will be reviewed in consideration of available junior openings.
Applications for students to apply will open as positions become available. Please check back periodically to apply.
The goal of the WakeMed Volunteer Services Department High School Junior Volunteer Program is to provide high school students with exposure to a hospital setting and an opportunity to give back to their community. The High School Junior Program is not a volunteer opportunity and is considered an internship or shadowing experience.
Applications for open positions will be posted after March 10.
Before Applying Disclaimer
- This is a high-demand program with more applications received than available openings. Due to the volume, we cannot accept all applications. Students not selected will be notified by email and are encouraged to continue to apply when new opportunities become available.
- To remain equitable towards all applicants, WakeMed Volunteer Services is not preferential towards any prospective junior, due to their connection to WakeMed. WakeMed Volunteer Services also does not select juniors on a “first come, first served basis.”
