About Me

Dr. James Merritt Edwards is a Maternal-Fetal Medicine physician with clinical interests in the effects of maternal infection and medical complications on the developing baby and newborn.

After completing medical school in 2010, Dr. Edwards began his residency at Duke University Medial Center in Obstetrics and Gynecology, serving as administrative chief resident for one year. He continued his training with a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. During this time, he was actively involved in research, leading several research projects related to women and pregnancy.

As a Maternal-Fetal Medicine physician, Dr. Edwards sees women who have high-risk pregnancies, and he aims to treat each patient as an individual. His goal is to inform and educate each patient about their conditions and risks so they can make the best decisions for themselves and their families.

The tech that did the ultrasound was super nice!

Yes what was so outstanding is when my nurse left out the exam room and I got up to look at my results and I didn't understand where the baby weight was located at so soon as my nurse walked back in the room she showed me immediately and told me her weight and she was so beautiful sweet and full of life and understanding and doctor James as well was nice understanding and serious about me coming every week about my baby weight picking up he was so concerned and I loved that and appreciated everyone for there great outstanding work thank you all and you all always put a smile on my face even when I'm not so happy.

Wendy was very kind and patient doing the ultrasound and Dr. Edward's did a great job explaining my medical situation and was very efficient in scheduling my procedure immediately.
