WakeMed Magnet 2025

Organizational Overview Transformational Leadership
Structural Empowerment Exemplary Professional Practice
Dear Colleagues,
Welcome to WakeMed Nursing! We are excited to share with you the many successes we’ve experienced since our first Magnet designation in 2015, and our redesignation in 2020. True to the Magnet model, WakeMed nurses continuously evaluate and innovate to provide the excellent care for which we are known.
Please click each of the red tabs above to learn how we use our Professional Practice Model, CARES, and our Care Delivery System, Patient and Family Centered Care, in all that we do administratively, clinically, and within our community. We rely heavily on our robust and mature shared decision-making structure to keep our practice grounded in the best evidence, as well as in tune with what our nurses need for optimal nursing practice.
We are proud to share the following video that describes our Professional Practice Model in the words of clinical nurses, who share stories that are their own. Nursing Professional Practice Model: CARES
We look forward to seeing you soon and sharing the well-deserved pride we have in being WakeMed nurses.
Sincerely,
Cindy Boily
Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer
