WakeMed Children’s Hospital is proud to be the only pediatric inpatient care provider in Wake County, caring for thousands of babies and children each year and always providing the highest level of care and caring to our youngest patients.

Specifically designed to meet the emergency care needs of children, the Children’s Emergency Department offers cheerful atmosphere, bright murals, and doctors and staff who know how to treat kids even in the scariest situations.
The only one of its kind in Wake County, our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) provides expert treatment for life-threatening childhood diseases, respiratory and heart problems, injuries and critical illnesses.
Our Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides the highest level of care available to premature and critically ill infants.

Our Ronald McDonald House & Family Room offer private, relaxing space for family members of Children’s Hospital patients. We sincerely thank the individuals and organizations that helped make this room a reality.
Bright colors, a fish tank and a stocked playroom make this a unique place for kids. Our 25 inpatient rooms and 12 observation rooms are kid-friendly.
