About Me

Dr. Suchitra Joshi is a double board-certified child & adolescent and adult psychiatrist. She has clinical interests in depression, anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), trauma-related disorders, Tourette’s disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). She is particularly passionate about collaborating with other specialties and working as part of a multidisciplinary team to address complex cases. She enjoys providing comprehensive, coordinated care for children and adults with the goal of supporting each patient holistically.

She began her postsecondary education at University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario. She attended medical school at University of Medicine and Health Sciences in Basseterre, St. Kitts. She finished residency at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center in Detroit, MI. Moving south to Miami, FL, she completed her fellowship training in child & adolescent psychiatry at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Joshi’s patient care philosophy is rooted in a patient-centered, collaborative approach. She believes that clear communication and education help patients feel engaged and confident in their treatment. She considers each person's health, life experiences and environment when creating personalized treatment plans. Emphasizing the importance of making sustainable lifestyle changes, she works to enhance long-term health and well-being.

When not seeing patients, Dr. Joshi treasures time with her family. She also enjoys traveling  and spending time in nature – whether it’s relaxing at the beach or hiking in the mountains. At home, she loves experimenting with new recipes. She also enjoys the arts, especially attending live music and shows.
