Sarah Weiner, MD

Sarah Weiner is a board-certified, fellowship-trained general surgeon with clinical interests in biliary disease and hernia repair. With inpatients, she is most interested in trauma evaluation and critical care. She began her postsecondary education at Duke University in Durham, NC. She relocated to Greenville, SC, for medical school at University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville. She returned to NC for medical school at University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill. She then completed a surgical critical care fellowship at University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital in Birmingham, AL.

Dr. Weiner believes in thoughtful, patient-centered surgical care that combines clinical expertise with clear communication and compassion. Her goal is to help patients understand their condition and treatment options, make informed decisions and feel confident and supported throughout the process. 

Outside of work, Dr. Weiner enjoys spending time outdoors, especially sailing and exploring new hiking trails. She is an avid reader, crossword puzzle master and worldwide traveler.
