About Me
Dr. Pardeep Masuta is a board-certified, fellowship-trained pulmonologist with clinical interests in asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), lung cancer, pulmonary hypertension, interstitial lung disease and other advanced lung diseases, including sarcoidosis. He also has training in advanced bronchoscopy and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), with an interest in the management of complex pulmonary and critical care conditions. He finished his undergraduate education at York University in Toronto, Canada. He then completed medical school at Ross University School of Medicine in Portsmouth, Dominica, where he graduated with honors. He relocated to Syracuse, NY, thereafter, to complete both his internal medicine residency and pulmonary and critical care medicine fellowship at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY.
Dr. Masuta believes in providing evidence-based, thoughtful care that is also personalized to each patient. He strives to understand his patients’ goals, concerns and individual circumstances to incorporate those into treatment decisions. For patients with complex pulmonary or critical illnesses, he focuses on clear communication, careful evaluation and treatment plan development that is both medically appropriate and meaningful to the patient.
Outside of work, Dr. Masuta enjoys biking, strength and fitness training, playing video games and spending time with his wife and two children.
