Michael Cox, MD

Dr. Michael Cox is a board-certified general surgeon with clinical interests in minimally invasive emergency general surgery. He enjoys taking care of complex pathophysiology in the critically ill surgical-trauma intensive care unit (ICU). His elective interests include biliary pathology, complex and recurrent abdominal wall hernia and emterocutaneous fistula takedown.

Dr. Cox believes that whether in the emergency or practice setting, providing patient-centered care is of paramount importance. He believes in always staying up to date with evidence-based medicine, to allow for optimal patient education and participation in joint-decision making.    

Outside of work, Dr. Cox enjoys spending time with his wife and two Brittany spaniels, exercising and weight-lifting, watching premier league and international soccer, reading fantasy novels and computer gaming.
