Lauren Lange Smith, MD

Dr. Lauren Lange Smith is a board-certified pediatrician with clinical interests in medical education, newborn care and behavioral health management in the primary care setting. Dr. Lange Smith completed her undergraduate education at University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN. She attended medical school at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. She then went on to complete her pediatric residency and one year of a pediatric rheumatology fellowship at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago (Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine) in Chicago, IL.

Dr. Lange Smith enjoys pediatric primary care because of the opportunity to form longitudinal relationships with both patients and their parents or caregivers. She believes it is a privilege to play any part — no matter how big or how small — in keeping kids happy, healthy and safe.

When not at work, Dr. Lange Smith enjoys spending time with her husband and two young daughters, exercising, trying new Raleigh restaurants and traveling. She also loves to watch Notre Dame football games in the fall. Go Irish!
