Eric Olson, MD

Dr. Eric Olson is board certified in internal medicine and fellowship trained in all hematology and oncology disciplines. He is an active member of the American Society for Clinical Oncology and American Society of Hematology. His clinical interests include general hematology and oncology with a special interest in optimization of immunotherapy.

Dr. Olson earned his medical degree at University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, OK, and he completed his residency at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, NC. He remained there to complete his fellowship in hematology and oncology at Wake Forest Baptist Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Dr. Olson’s approach to patient care is one where cutting-edge science meets compassion. He is passionate about utilizing the latest research breakthroughs to give patients the most up-to-date treatments. He emphasizes active listening while working with patients to minimize the impact of toxicities and possible side-effects. Dr. Olson earnestly encourages patients to communicate their issues, so they can receive the best treatment and lead their lives to the fullest.

It is important to him when discussing new diagnoses with patients that they thoroughly understand the diagnosis, treatment plans and the evidence for the treatments indicated. He works hard to make sure this is all comprehensively discussed. It is a great privilege to Dr. Olson to care for those in need and partner with them to achieve the best possible outcomes.

When not seeing patients, Dr. Olson enjoys playing tennis, exercising, playing with his dog and spending time with his family.
