About Me
Carrie McGroarty is the director of Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine and a board-certified physician assistant, with clinical interests in healing wounds, researching and learning more about tissue regeneration. She loves the operating room and how much faster multidisciplinary teams can solve health problems in the operating room. McGroarty earned her bachelor's degree while attending James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. She completed her master's degree at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. Her doctorate is through Vanderbilt in Nashville, TN. She has more than 20 years of clinical experience and a teaching affiliation with Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC. She is an internationally renowned speaker who travels the world speaking on wound healing modalities.
Patients are the highlight of every day for McGroarty. The opportunity to partner with people for their health is her great privilege and responsibility. If she can also have a little fun with her patients, all the better.
Outside of caring for patients, McGroarty enjoys running marathons! Her favorite place to run is Disney. She has completed the Dopey Challenge 11 times — 48.6 magical miles over four days in Orlando, FL. She is also an avid reader and loves sharing stories.
