This panel should only be ordered and performed at the direction of Transfusion Services.
Testing should be done only on a known pre-transfusion sample or sample collected at least 6 weeks after transfusion of IgA-containing product or IVIG infusion.

2 Pink Top or Plain Red Top tubes

Minimum Collecting Volume
Minimum 4.0 mL whole blood to process for minimum 2.0 mL serum/plasma

Order as Miscellaneous Send out test
- Enter in comment: Anti-IgA - to be sent out by Transfusion Services
Separate serum/plasma into a transfer tube. Transfusion Services will send specimen on wet ice to The Blood Connection for testing at American Red Cross.
