Sample Type
Specimens from any body site are acceptable for fungus cultures. Be aware that fungus cultures for bone marrow, blood, and CSF have different test codes.

KOH Prep: Normally available within 8 hours of receipt in the laboratory. Preliminary culture result: in 24 hr. Additional preliminary culture results: at 7, 14, and 21 days. Final in 28 days.
