Breast Cancer Awareness
Breast Cancer Awareness Month
It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and WakeMed is honoring the strength and courage of all those impacted by breast cancer. Whether you are living with breast cancer, supporting a loved one or celebrating survivorship, this month is about coming together as a community.
For 40 years, October has been a time to raise awareness, encourage screenings and shine a light on the importance of early detection. At WakeMed, we are committed to supporting women's health, advancing research and providing the very best care at every step of the journey.
As part of this commitment, WakeMed is proud to introduce PreciselyYou – a no-cost community research program that offers members of our community the opportunity to learn their genetic risk for hereditary breast and ovarian cancer, along with other valuable health insights. PreciselyYou is one more way we’re working toward prevention and better outcomes.
