WakeMed Opens Innovative Wound Care Center in Cary

WakeMed Health & Hospitals announced the opening of the WakeMed Wound Care Center in Cary, an outpatient facility offering a comprehensive and aggressive approach to treating patients with non-healing wounds. The center, located near WakeMed Cary Hospital, treats patients with wounds of all types utilizing a combination of traditional and advanced therapies that aid and accelerate the healing process.

Led by co-medical directors Dr. Brian Futrell, podiatrist at Piedmont Foot and Ankle Clinic, and Dr. Jacek Paszkowiak, vascular surgeon at WakeMed, the center is staffed by a team of skilled clinicians with advanced training in wound care. Patients are evaluated for all possible physical conditions that could lead to improper healing, such as diabetes or traumatic injuries, and, with their care team, are given an individualized healing plan that incorporates the most effective treatments to provide the best outcome and patient support.

Wounds treated by the center include: diabetic foot ulcers, venous ulcers, pressure injuries, arterial ulcers, surgical wounds, traumatic wounds, radiation wounds, compromised skin grafts and flaps, crush injuries and more.

The WakeMed Wound Care Center is located at 210 Ashville Avenue, Suite 420 in Cary.
