About Me
Dr. Ferrell, a Raleigh native, received a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Chapel Hill, NC. After receiving a medical degree from the Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC, Dr. Ferrell remained there to complete an internship in medicine and a residency in neurology at North Carolina Baptist Hospital.
Before returning to Raleigh to join Raleigh Neurology, Dr. Ferrell completed fellowships in neuromuscular diseases and neurosonology at Bowman Gray in Winston-Salem, NC. Board certified in neurology, his professional memberships include the American Academy of Neurology and the American Society of Neuroimaging.
Dr. Ferrell has been listed yearly in Best Doctors in America since 2001. He served for eight years on the North Carolina Neurological Society Executive Board; this included a two-year stint as President. He also completed the Leadership College Scholars Program sponsored by the North Carolina Medical Society. He was appointed as chairman of the North Carolina Medical Society Legislative Cabinet; he served as chairman also. He was placed on the Board of North Carolinians for Affordable Healthcare.
Most recently, he was appointed to the North Carolina Medical Society Board of Directors. He currently serves as the President of Raleigh Neurology Associates.
