Vijay Chaudhary, MD, MPH, MBA

Dr. Vijay Chaudhary is a board-certified hematology and oncology physician providing evaluation and management for patients with benign/malignant hematology and solid tumors at WakeMed. His clinical interests include prostate, kidney, bladder, testicular cancer, having led investigational drug trials as a Principal Investigator, prior to joining WakeMed, in these cancers and integration of Immunotherapy in Oncology. He brings over two decades of clinical experience to WakeMed, where he serves as the Chief of Oncology to help develop cancer care services in Wake County and beyond.

Dr. Chaudhary received his medical degree from University College of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India, and completed his internal medicine internship and residency at the University of North Dakota. He is fellowship trained in hematology and medical oncology from Michigan State University.

Dr. Chaudhary strives to empower patients with better understanding of their disease process and allay their fear and anxiety as it pertains to their diagnostic evaluation and management plan. He understands the vulnerability that diagnosis of cancer brings and works closely with patients and their families in provision of prompt, appropriate, evidence-based, personalized, and precision-based cancer care. Outside of work, Dr. Chaudhary enjoys spending time with his wife, two boys, and dog. He also enjoys traveling, running, being a Green Bay Packers fan, playing tennis and golf.
