Vickie Fowler, MD

Dr. Vickie Fowler is a board-certified family medicine physician with clinical interests in women’s health, chronic disease management and helping her patients improve their mental and emotional health to achieve improved physical health.

Dr. Fowler earned her medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, North Carolina, and completed her family medicine residency at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. Following residency, she completed a fellowship in obstetrics at Moses Cone Health System in Greensboro. Dr. Fowler brings over 20 years of family medicine experience to WakeMed.

Dr. Fowler values developing a strong and trusting physician-patient relationship and working with her patients to achieve their health care goals. Dr. Fowler enjoys getting to know and care for members of the entire family and patients of all ages. She strives to be her patient’s resource and views her role as their primary care physician to be the quarterback of the patient’s health care team, helping to coordinate their care with other specialists when needed.

Outside of work, Dr. Fowler enjoys spending time with her husband and children, whether it is movie night at home or an escape to western North Carolina to visit family. Dr. Fowler also enjoys watching ACC basketball and football and is an avid Carolina fan. However, she is often seen on the sidelines of NC State games with her husband, who is an even more avid NC State fan!
