About Me

Dr. Uma Darji is a board-certified family medicine physician with clinical interests in preventive health, patient education, comprehensive care, chronic disease management, medical education, practice management, holistic medicine, global health, urgent care, aesthetic medicine and lactation medicine. Dr. Darji earned her medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean in St. Marteen and completed her family medicine residency at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. Dr. Darji joined WakeMed after working as a primary care physician in Pittsboro, North Carolina.

Dr. Darji believes in preventive health and patient education. She feels that family medicine should be about building a relationship between the physician and patient and then building upon those bonds to ensure that the patient stays healthy and well. Outside of work, Dr. Darji enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with her family.
