Stephen Boateng, DO

Dr. Stephen Boateng is a board-certified, fellowship-trained cardiologist with clinical interests in preventative care, heart failure, cardiomyopathies, pulmonary hypertension, lipid (cholesterol) problems, cardio-oncology and non-invasive imaging. Dr. Boateng completed his Cardiology fellowship training at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, and residency at University of Chicago, Northshore in Evanston Illinois. He earned his medical degree at the University of North Texas Health Science Center and the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine and is a member of the American College of Cardiology.

Dr. Boateng believes in working with his patients to accomplish a shared goal of improving their health and ensuring that they live healthy and sustainably. The spectrum of cardiac conditions is broad. For many of these conditions, the appropriate intervention and a patient’s own behavior can have a real impact in preventing, treating, or slowing progression. Dr. Boateng enjoys interacting with patients about treatment options and lifestyle changes. He takes his role as an expert in the field of Cardiology seriously, and as such, strives to give his patients all the information they need to make a fully informed and comfortable decision with the opportunity to ask questions. His goal is that patients leave his office with less anxiety about their cardiac condition(s) and feel empowered to take charge of their health.

When not at work, Dr. Boateng enjoys strength training, hiking, mountain biking, playing soccer and playing ping-pong.
