Scott Lisson, MD, FACS

Scott W. Lisson, MD, FACS, is a native of Rochester, NY, and earned his undergraduate degree with high honors from Colgate University in Hamilton, NY. He earned his medical degree magna cum laude from the Boston University School of Medicine in Boston, MA, where he was selected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society during his third year.  Following a straight surgical internship at the University of Chicago Medical Center in Chicago, IL, Dr. Lisson completed his residency in urologic surgery at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Jacksonville, FL, where he served as Chief Resident from 2003-2004.

Dr. Lisson has over two decades of experience managing prostate, kidney, ureteral, bladder and testicular cancer patients. Following general and urologic surgical training at two of the country's premier oncology programs, Dr. Lisson's career has spanned active-duty military service in the US Navy Medical Corps, private practice in Eastern NC and over a decade at WakeMed serving the citizens of Wake County.  Technically skilled in endoscopic, open, laparoscopic, or robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgical techniques, Dr. Lisson offers compassionate, individualized urologic cancer care focused on superior outcomes, quality of life and patient satisfaction.   

Dr. Lisson is board-certified in urology, with clinical interests in urologic oncology/cancers, robotic and laparoscopic surgery of the kidney, prostate, and ureter, benign prostate disease, and urinary stone disease. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Urologic Association, the Southeastern Section of the AUA, the Mayo Clinic Urologic Alumni Association, the NC Medical Society, and the Wake County Medical Society. Dr. Lisson served proudly in the U.S. Navy Medical Corps from 1995-2008 with tours at Naval Hospital Guam and Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune as each command's only urologic surgeon.

In his free time, Dr. Lisson enjoys spending time with his family, attempting to play golf, fishing, personal fitness and playing the drums.
