About Me

Dr. Peter Farmer is a board-eligible pediatric gastroenterologist with clinical interests in inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease and eosinophilic esophagitis. He earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee and completed his residency in pediatrics at Eastern Virginia Medical School where he served as chief resident. Dr. Farmer is fellowship-trained in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition from Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Dr. Farmer is a strong advocate for shared decision making. He believes that physicians and patients develop a therapeutic alliance through mutual trust, respect and collaboration. Outside of work, Dr. Farmer enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, hiking, reading and being a Duke basketball fan.
