About Me
Dr. Pallavi Kopparthy is a hematology-oncology physician at WakeMed and provides care for patients with benign/malignant hematologic disorders and solid tumors. Her special interests include treating patients with breast cancer and gynecological cancers. She is also board certified in obesity medicine and is a certified menopause practitioner. As one of a small number of clinicians nationwide holding advanced certifications in hematology/oncology, obesity medicine and menopause management, she offers a uniquely comprehensive approach to women’s health and cancer care.
Her clinical philosophy centers on patient‑centric, shared decision‑making and building long‑term, meaningful relationships with her patients. She integrates the latest medical advancements with her extensive clinical experience to address immediate medical needs while promoting long‑term wellness. She is passionate about supporting breast cancer survivors, recognizing that life after treatment presents its own physical, emotional and lifestyle challenges. Her goal is to empower each patient through personalized, compassionate care. Her combined expertise in internal medicine, metabolic health, menopause management and oncology enables her to deliver truly holistic care across the lifespan.
Dr. Kopparthy received her medical degree from Kasturba Medical College in Mangalore, Karnataka, India. She completed her internal medicine residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University, where she served as chief resident, and subsequently completed her hematology and medical oncology fellowship at the University of Florida. Her training included significant experience with clinical research and the administration of advanced therapies for cancer patients.
Outside of work, Dr. Kopparthy enjoys spending time with her family, hiking and traveling.
