Munizay Paracha, MD

Dr. Munizay Paracha is a board-certified, fellowship-trained hematologist-medical oncologist with clinical interests in general oncology, including cancers of head and neck, breast, thorax, gastrointestinal system, genitourinary system and skin/melanoma. Dr. Paracha completed much of her education in Boston, MA, where she earned a bachelor’s degree from Boston University, completed medical school at Boston University School of Medicine and then finished her residency at Boston Medical Center. Next, she relocated to Greenville, NC, where she received fellowship training at East Carolina University Medical Center.

Dr. Paracha’s personal care philosophy is informed by her desire for patients to know how much she cares before she asks them to trust how much she knows. Caring for patients with cancer is about more than diagnosing and treating disease. It is about listening carefully, understanding what matters most to each person and being present during some of the most difficult and uncertain moments of their lives. Dr. Paracha strives to build relationships grounded in compassion, honesty and trust, while providing thoughtful, evidence-based care tailored to each patient’s goals and values. She believes that excellent medicine requires both knowledge and empathy. Her goal is for every patient to feel heard, respected, supported and confident that she is truly in their corner throughout their journey.

Outside of work, Dr. Paracha’s personal interest and hobbies include hiking and trying new recipes as well as spending time with her children, husband and wonderful cat, Mumble.
