Muhannad Kurtom, DO

Dr. Muhannad Kurtom is a board-certified, fellowship-trained gastroenterologist with clinical interests in all aspects of general gastroenterology, with a particular focus on endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)/pancreaticobiliary disease. He appreciates caring for patients with both acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions in the inpatient and outpatient settings, while also performing both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. Dr. Kurtom began his postsecondary education at University of Maryland in College, Park, MD. He then attended medical school at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, WV. He completed his internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at the University of North Carolina Healthcare Blue Ridge in Morganton, NC.

Dr. Kurtom strives to provide compassionate, patient-centered care built on trust and respect. Caring for patients from diverse backgrounds has taught him to listen closely, understand each person's unique needs and develop individualized treatment plans together. He wants every patient to feel heard, valued and confident in their care.

When not seeing patients, Dr. Kurtom enjoys staying active by running and working out, watching sports, traveling and exploring new restaurants and cuisines.
