About Me
Dr. Michael Cowherd is a board-certified, fellowship-trained interventional cardiologist with clinical interests in general cardiology, interventional cardiology, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology and peripheral vascular disease. He began his undergraduate education at The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill in Chapel Hill, NC. He completed medical school at The University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill, NC. He relocated to Colorado for his residency at The University of Colorado at Denver in Aurora, CO. He returned to The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill in Chapel Hill, NC to complete a fellowship in general and interventional cardiology.
Dr. Cowherd strives to create a partnership with each of his patients to optimize their well-being. Mutual respect and understanding are dually important for the partnership to thrive.
Outside of work, Dr. Cowherd loves spending time with his wife and two children. His beloved hobbies include skiing, hiking and watching UNC sports.
