About Me
Dr. Megan Salter is a board-certified internal medicine physician, with keen interests in epidemiology and public health. She chose primary care as her clinical area of focus because she enjoys building long-term relationships with patients and getting to know who they are as a whole person. Primary care also allows her the opportunity to engage in preventive medicine guided by population-level data. In addition to preventive medicine, as a primary care physician, she also helps to address new health concerns, manage chronic conditions and perform annual physicals for patients age 18 years and older.
Her approach to patient care emphasizes partnership, so patients are actively engaged in decisions about their health. She strives to provide patient-centered, evidence-based care.
Dr. Salter grew up in Fayetteville, GA. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology at Grinnell College in Grinnell, IA. She then pursued graduate education in public health, earning a master’s degree and doctorate in epidemiology at Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health in Baltimore, MD, where she also completed a postdoctoral research fellowship. She received her medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and completed her residency in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.
Outside of work, Dr. Salter enjoys spending time with her family, reading mystery novels and quilting.
