About Me

A resident of Holly Springs, Dr. Matthew Payne is a board certified family medicine physician with clinical interests in diabetes, hypertension, preventive medicine, and men's health. Dr. Payne has spent his career practicing family medicine, both in Richmond, VA and here in Raleigh with Duke Primary Care. Dr. Payne feels the key to excellent care is taking the time to truly listen to his patients, and he believes in a partnership, involving and educating patients in their own health care. He believes this is the key to improving health for his patients. In his free time, Dr. Payne enjoys spending time with his family, traveling (especially to the beach), watching his sons play soccer, skiing and hiking as well as reading and studying Civil War history.
