Laura Ekka, MD

Dr. Laura Ekka is a physician of both pediatrics and adult internal medicine, with special clinical interests in disease prevention and family wellness. Dr. Ekka enjoys providing services, including placement and removal of intrauterine devices and Nexplanon for reliable pregnancy prevention. She is also able to provide corticosteroid injections for specific joint concerns in certain circumstances and minor skin procedures as needed. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Ekka received her medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, Virginia after earning her bachelor’s degree in zoology from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark. She is actively involved in the programs of maintenance of certification through both the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Board of Internal Medicine. She is an active member of her church community, and in her free time, Dr. Ekka enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, playing guitar, singing, hiking and reading.
