Kyle Atkins, FNP-C

Kyle Atkins is a board certified family nurse practitioner who specializes in family medicine, health promotion and disease prevention. He also has experience in emergency medicine, intensive care, mental health and internal medicine.

Prior to becoming a nurse, Atkins served as an emergency medical technician for the Cary Area Emergency Medical Services in Cary, N.C. This experience, paired with his experience as a registered nurse in the medical intensive care unit at Duke University Medical Center, gave him a first-hand look into the lasting negative effects poor lifestyle habits can have on a person’s health. He then became inspired to pursue a career as a family nurse practitioner, allowing him to serve on the front-end of helping patients avoid long-term health complications while living healthier, more active lives. Atkins values the use of a holistic approach – mind, body, spirit – when treating patients as well as full patient participation and collaboration.

Outside of medicine, Atkins’ life is centered around his family. He and his wife Heather have been married since 2000, and they have two sons, Kalib and Nolan. Together they enjoy sports, traveling and spending time on the lake.
