Katherine (Katie) Lindle, MD

Dr. Katie Lindle is a board-certified pediatric cardiologist who joined WakeMed in July 2026. She cares for children of all ages — from newborns in their first hours of life to teenagers. Her clinical interests are in congenital heart disease as well as preventive cardiology, including elevated cholesterol and high blood pressure.

Dr. Lindle’s training reflects a career built around children’s hearts. After earning her medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, she completed her pediatric residency at Indiana University in Indianapolis, IN. She then completed her fellowship in pediatric cardiology at Texas Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston — one of the largest and most respected pediatric heart programs in the country — and remained there for five years as an assistant professor and clinical cardiologist, caring for some of the most complex pediatric heart patients in the nation.

For families, what matters most may be how Dr. Lindle practices. She believes parents and patients hold the answers she needs, so she listens — intently. When a family comes in worried, she takes that concern seriously, even when the cause turns out not to be cardiac, and she works to make sure every family leaves with answers and a plan. She also finds special meaning in supporting newborns with heart conditions and walking alongside their families as they navigate an overwhelming time. Plus, she works hard to put children at ease, often bringing a bit of fun into the visit, like when she runs around the office to recreate symptoms, or swaps stories about summer camp.

That camp talk comes from experience: Dr. Lindle served as Medical Director of Camp Bon Coeur, a summer camp for children living with heart conditions, where kids who have spent too much time in hospitals get to simply be kids. Her dedication to her patients has been recognized by her peers as well — she was named a “Top Doctor” for three consecutive years in her previous community, and she is a Fellow of both the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Cardiology.

Outside of work, Dr. Lindle loves spending time with her husband and their two children. She enjoys biking and lifting weights, playing sand volleyball, traveling with her family and eating good barbecue.
