Jonathan Wons, MD

Dr. Jonathan Wons is a board-certified family medicine physician with clinical interests in preventive care and management of chronic illnesses, including diabetes, hypertension, and asthma. Dr. Wons is also interested in adolescent/young adult medicine and mental health. He earned his medical degree from Albany Medical College in Albany, New York, and completed his family medicine residency at New York Medical College – Saint Joseph’s Medical Center in Yonkers, New York. Dr. Wons is bilingual in English and Spanish and values the impact of access to health care and health communication in one’s native language.

Dr. Wons strives to practice patient-centered care in which he partners with his patients to guide them along their medical journey. He holds the utmost respect for individual values, preferences, and belief systems. Dr. Wons is a strong proponent of empowering patients to be dedicated advocates for their health. He approaches each interaction with a patient as an opportunity to build ongoing trust and form long-term relationships. Dr. Wons values the intersection of mental and physical health and works to address the whole person. Outside of the office, Dr. Wons enjoys swimming, playing soccer and hiking. He also enjoys cooking South American Cuisine, traveling, and spending time with his family.
