John J. Engemann, MD

Dr. John Engemann is a board-certified, fellowship-trained infectious disease provider with clinical interests in orthopaedic infections, blood infections, travel-related infections, infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship.

Dr. Engemann believes infectious disease is the most interesting specialty as it allows him to care for patients with a wide variety of health challenges. He appreciates that this work has a huge impact on diagnosing and treating infections as well as health anomalies that appear to be infections but are not. He finds it gratifying when a critically ill patient improves and walks out of the hospital. Beyond emergency cases, he also enjoys working in clinic, developing relationships with patients — some of whom he has followed since he was a fellow in training.

When not at work, Dr. Engemann enjoys spending time with family, reading, cooking, going to the beach and sharing good laughs.
