Gwen Harris, NP

Gwen Harris is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with clinical interests in family medicine and overall improved quality of life for her patients. She received her doctor of nursing practice degree at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. Harris has over 15 years of critical care and emergency medicine experience and joined WakeMed in 2016.

Harris strives to meet patients where they are and set realistic expectations and goals. Harris feels that care is a joint effort and must be approached with the provider and the patient as a team. Education and information sharing allow for the provider and the patients to have optimal outcomes. 

Outside of work, Harris enjoys hiking, watching soccer, reading, and participating in Zumba classes. Harris also enjoys going to the movies, attending live theater and listening to music.
