About Me
Dr. Rutherford is an associate professor of surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH), an attending physician at WakeMed and a colonel in the United States Air Force Reserve. He earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, completed his internship and junior residency at UNC-CH and completed his senior residency at New Hanover Memorial Hospital in Wilmington, N.C. A diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and also board certified in critical care, Dr. Rutherford is especially interested in surgical critical care.
