About Me
Dylan Kantor is a board-certified physician assistant with a strong interest in acute care settings, including emergency medicine, critical care, trauma, inpatient medicine and surgery. These environments allow him to support patients during some of their most vulnerable moments, and he finds it deeply meaningful to contribute to their care and recovery. He is also passionate about procedures and hands-on skills, especially those that involve using bedside point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS). He values POCUS for its ability to provide rapid, cost-effective insights that enhance both diagnosis and management.
Kantor was born and raised in Boston, MA, spent several years living in New Orleans, LA, where he earned his undergraduate degree from Tulane University and then moved to North Carolina for physician assistant school at Elon University School of Health Science in Elon, NC. He fell in love with the area and decided to make it home.
Kantor's approach to patient care is grounded in empathy, clear communication and education. He believes every patient deserves to feel heard and understood. Taking the time to sit at eye level, listen without interruption and build rapport helps to foster trust and improve outcomes. He also emphasize patient education — to assist individuals in understanding what is happening in their bodies. With this knowledge, they are more likely to participate in their care and commit to treatment plans — essential for long-term health. He strives to go above and beyond for patients by being thorough, accessible and attentive to their concerns, making sure they feel supported.
Outside of work, Kantor enjoys bowling, skiing, playing racket sports — tennis and pickleball — as well as enjoying billiards and mini golf. He also loves spending time with friends and family, traveling both domestically and internationally, exploring new cuisines and cultures, cooking, hiking — especially when there's a chance of finding waterfalls — and visiting amusement parks, distilleries, beaches and lake cabins. He's always up for a spontaneous adventure or any type of game, whether it’s cards, board games, video games, trivia or puzzles.
