About Me

Daniel Fox, MD is a pulmonary and critical care medicine physician with WakeMed Physician Practices. In addition to working in the intensive care units and caring for inpatients, Dr. Fox also sees patient in private practice at WakeMed Physician Practices – Pulmonology.  His clinical interests include caring for patients with complex lung diseases including autoimmune disease, asthma, and interstitial lung disease, with a special interest in patients with pulmonary hypertension and pulmonary embolism. 
 
Dr. Fox earned his medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine. He completed a residency program in internal medicine at Duke University Medical Center followed by fellowship programs in pulmonary and critical care medicine and pulmonary vascular disease at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.
 
He is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, and critical care medicine.  He has published numerous research papers and has completed many presentations across the country, and is a member of the American Thoracic Society and the Pulmonary Hypertension Association. In his free time, Dr. Fox enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, hiking and fishing in the Carolina mountains, and volunteering with his local church.
