Chris Van Ooteghem, PA

Chris Van Ooteghem is a physician assistant with over 20 years of experience in family medicine, internal medicine, urgent care and emergency medicine. He completed his undergraduate education at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC, earning a bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in chemistry. He continued his studies in Savannah, GA, where he completed a master’s degree in physician assistant studies through South University.

Ooteghem became a physician assistant because he wanted to positively impact the lives of others while working in an exciting, dynamic profession. He enjoys the challenge of helping patients overcome illness and injury as they achieve their physical and mental goals. He prefers a minimalistic approach to medicine, ideally controlling disease states through healthy lifestyle choices, utilizing medications as a last resort. He strives to create a customized plan in collaboration with each patient to maximize their chances of success. With interests spanning a wide variety of medical issues, he is happy to see patients for any reason they deem necessary.

When not with patients, Oooteghem enjoys attending his childrens' hockey practices and games. He also plays golf, tennis and piano.
