Bryan Assenmacher, PA-C

Bryan Assenmacher is a board-certified physician assistant with a strong clinical interest in surgical care. This dates back to his first experience as a US Navy Hospital Corpsman (medic) in 2009, which led to his training as a surgical technician. Today, his interests have expanded to veteran healthcare, evidence-based medicine, patient-centered care and shared decision-making. He completed his undergraduate degree while attending University of Michigan Dearborn in Dearborn, MI. He moved South to Durham, NC, to earn his master’s degree at Duke University.

Assenmacher’s personal care philosophy is to envision and treat all patients as if they were his mother, father, sibling or other loved one. This mindset serves as an internal reminder to provide the best possible care for patients during their time of need.

Outside of work, Assenmacher loves to spend time with his partner, Carlie, and their dog, Maggie. He is a big sports fan and enjoys attending local events in Durham and Raleigh or watching his hometown teams from Detroit or the University of Michigan. He also like golf, and, thankfully, he has many options for playing in North Carolina.
