About Me
As a board-certified interventional cardiologist and current director of the WakeMed Cath Lab, Dr. Brian Go specializes in adult cardiology and cardiovascular interventions, with expertise in peripheral vascular intervention, stents, percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA), nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, and general cardiology (i.e. coronary disease, angina, heart attack, leg blockages, and vessels outside the heart). He also participates on the WakeMed Valve Team with transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR).
Dr. Go has been working with the cardiology team at WakeMed since 1999 and feels this organization provides the best combination of individualized care and caring for patients, cutting edge technology and a supportive, caring staff.
“We truly have the best team of caregivers, from providing care for our very sick patients to those who are receiving outpatient preventive care,” said Dr. Go. “The care we deliver here as a team at WakeMed, I believe, is second to none. As cardiologists in particular, we work closely together, share opinions and offer the support that is needed to provide the patient with the highest quality of individualized care."
Dr. Go originally chose to practice cardiology because it allows him to help people, create lifelong relationships with patients, and often deliver instant, dramatic results in a patient’s health and well-being. His patients can always expect to receive plenty of time to talk with him, express concerns and ask questions. Dr. Go is committed to providing as much information as possible and to fully explain to a patient what he or she can expect from their treatment plan.
