About Me
Dr. Astha Thakkar is a board-certified, fellowship-trained hematologist-oncologist with clinical interests in hematologic malignancies, including leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. She earned her medical degree from Topiwala National Medical College in Mumbai, Maharashtra and has numerous publications to her credit. She served as resident and chief resident at Mount Sinai Morningside-West, New York, NY. She completed her fellowship training at Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY.
Dr. Thakkar strives to be a physician patients trust as an ally in their care. She helps patients understand their disease and also formulate a treatment plan that aligns with their goals and values.
Outside of work, Dr. Thakkar enjoys reading fiction and non-fiction, listening to podcasts and cooking.
