Anoosh Bahraini, MD

Dr. Anoosh Bahraini is a board-certified general surgeon who completed a fellowship in minimally invasive, advanced gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery. His clinical interests include bariatric surgery, complex abdominal wall hernias and foregut pathology, including reflux and hiatal hernias. Dr. Bahraini attended the University of Georgia in Athens, GA, for undergraduate school and earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA. He completed surgical residency at University of North Carolina Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC. After residency, he completed his fellowship at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC, specializing in bariatric, foregut and hernia surgery, with a focus on laparoscopic and robotic techniques. He has numerous publications, professional memberships and presentations in the field.

Dr. Bahraini engages in shared decision-making, ensuring that the patient's goals, values and perspectives are fully considered. By doing this, Dr. Bahraini aims to identify the best treatment plans for patients and their families and help patients return to what they value most in life. 

When not seeing patients, Dr. Bahraini loves spending time with his family, cooking a variety of cuisines, cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs and spending time outdoors — in particular, hiking in western North Carolina.
