Ann Scott Pate, MD

Dr. Scottie Pate joined WakeMed Physician Practices - Pediatrics as a pediatric hospitalist after serving as a pediatric hospitalist with Virginia Hospitalists, Inc., in Richmond, Va.  There, she helped provide 24/7 coverage of the pediatric units at two community hospitals, which included emergency department consults and well-baby nursery coverage.  She was also responsible for the education of family practice residents.

Dr. Pate earned her medical degree at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill, N.C., and completed her pediatrics residency at the University of Tennessee/LeBonheur Children's Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn.  She holds a bachelor's degree in Spanish from Sewanee: The University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn., where she was also a member of the varsity swim team.

Passionate about volunteer service, outdoor activities, and working with young children and their families, Dr. Pate is a board-certified fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
