About Me
Andrew Allen is a board-certified physician assistant with clinical interests in sports medicine, dermatology and outpatient procedures. He received his master’s degree in physician assistant studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Interservice Physician Assistant Program (IPAP), in Omaha. Andrew is a 22-year Army retired veteran with a purple heart and brings over a decade of clinical experience to WakeMed.
Andrew approaches his patients with a holistic mindset and shared decision-making approach. He listens to the patient, performs a thorough exam and discusses the differential diagnosis that he may be considering. He believes in reviewing the treatment plan with the patient and then deciding which plan works best based on shared goals. Outside of work, Andrew enjoys spending time outdoors, skiing, hiking, playing tennis and traveling.
