About Me
Amanda Spiritos is a board-certified physician assistant with interest in guiding patients safely and confidently through perioperative care, from preoperative education, to assisting intraoperatively, to guiding them through the postoperative recovery phase. Spiritos completed her bachelor’s in chemistry and the physician assistant program at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Before joining WakeMed, Spiritos worked as a physician assistant in critical care and cardiothoracic surgery in Georgia and North Carolina hospitals.
Spiritos believes the best patient care stems from a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach, engaging the patient as an active member of their care team in order to best meet their health and wellness goals. Outside of work, Spiritos enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, reading and exercising.
