Alyssa Gowdy, PA-C

Alyssa Gowdy is a board-certified physician assistant with clinical interests focused on comprehensive care of patients undergoing cardiac and thoracic surgery —  a particular emphasis is centered on postoperative management in the inpatient setting, optimizing recovery for patients with complex cardiovascular disease. Valuing the opportunity to guide patients and their families through the recovery process, she provides both medical management and education to support recovery and long-term health. She completed her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC.

Gowdy’s approach to patient care is rooted in compassion, respect and open communication. She strives to create a supportive environment where patients and their families feel heard, informed and involved in their care. By combining evidence-based medicine with empathy, she aims to provide high-quality care while also ensuring patients feel comforted and supported throughout their post-operative recovery.

When not seeing patients, Gowdy enjoys spending time outdoors — whether hiking, traveling or exploring new places. She also relishes quality time with family and friends.
